Hello! My name is Dan Dawson, and I am a private pilot based at the Watsonville Municipal Airport in Watsonville, CA. I began flying lessons and received my private pilots certificate in 2000 and have enjoyed flying ever since. When the Light Sport rating and the new class of aircraft was proposed I was immediately excited by it, and have looked for opportunities to fly and enjoy them. As a private pilot I am able to fly Light Sport Aircraft without needing to have a Light Sport Certificate, but for those who are not licensed pilots, the Light Sport Certificate would be an excellent way to get started in aviation since it reduces some of the complexity and cost in learning to fly.
I think I might like to eventually become a certified Light Sport Flight Instructor, so I could continue in introducing more people to aviation and helping them fulfill their dreams and aviation goals.
